TAFONI PAVILION
Inspired by Tafoni - naturally eroded cavities formed by wind and water - this futuristic pavilion provides shade, shelter, and a place to rest while connecting visitors to the ancient landscape.
It was a fun experience bringing hand drawn sketches and visions into reality with the help of Run diffusion.
Go to Case studies to see similar process I used for the Lakeside pavilion.

TAFONI PAVILION

01
"I recently went to Capital Reef National Park in Utah. When I was there, I saw very cool deformations in the rocks. They are known as Tafone. They are natural cave like cavities found in the sandstone and granite rocks formed due to weathering. Some of them were so big that I could get in and rest for a bit. They provided shelter against heat and rain. I wanted to explore how this structure can be reimagined as a pavilion."

I went through series of prompting where I directed AI to set my scene, material, scale, geometry and environment settings.
